The Birth of a Nation (The Clansman; In the Clutches of the Ku Klux Klan) (1915) [Gus]: Hanged by a group of Klansmen. (Walter, a Causcasian actor, was made up in blackface for this role.)

Intolerance: Love's Struggle Throughout the Ages (1916) [The Musketeer of the Slums]: Shot in the chest by Miriam Cooper from outside the window while Walter is menacing Mae Marsh in her apartment; he dies after staggering out into the hallway.

The Mother and the Law (1919) [The Musketeer of the Slums]: See Intolerance. (This film was made by re-editing the 20th-century storyline into a separate film.)

The Maltese Falcon (1931) [Miles Archer]: Shot to death by Bebe Daniels. (See also Jerome Cowan in the 1941 version.)
