The Man They Could Not Hang (1939) [Bob Roberts]: Poisoned in a glass "gas chamber" (with Stanley's own consent) by Boris Karloff as part of an experiment in reviving the dead; the police arrest Boris before the experiment can be completed, preventing Stanley's revival.
