George Arliss' spirit in 'Voltaire'
George Arliss (1868 - 1946)
Mr. Florence Arliss
Voltaire (1933) [Voltaire]: Dies (off-screen) of old age/natural causes; the main story ends before his death, but an "epilogue" montage depicts him as a spirit superimposed over scenes of events occurring after his death.

The House of Rothschild (1934) [Mayer Rothschild/Nathan Rothschild]: Playing a dual role as father and son, the father "Mayer" suffers a heart attack after learning that the courier bringing the money he needed had been robbed; he dies shortly afterwards with his sons gathered by his bedside. (The son "Nathan" survives the movie.)

The Last Gentleman (1934) [Cabot Barr]: Dies of a heart attack from shock after learning that his son (Donald Meek) had been declared insane.
