C. Aubrey Smith (with Elizabeth Risdon) shortly before their deaths in 'Five Came Back'
C. Aubrey Smith (1863 - 1948)
Another Thin Man (Return of the Thin Man) (1939) [Colonel Burr MacFay]: Reportedly murdered (though I don't know the method or the killer's identity). (I haven't seen this movie, but I've read the premise on its IMDB listing.)

Five Came Back (1939) [Professor Henry Spengler]: Shot to death (along with Elizabeth Risdon) by Joseph Calleia in the jungle, in order to spare them from being captured and tortured by the natives. The camera pans from the couple embracing to Joseph just before he fires.

And Then There Were None (1945) [General Sir John Mandrake]: Stabbed in the back (off-screen) by Barry Fitzgerald on the beach. We learn of his death afterwards when Louis Hayward informs the others; his body is not shown.
