Midnight Cowboy (1969) [Towny]: Possibly killed when Jon Voight shoves a telephone receiver in his mouth after beating him up in a hotel room. (The movie never actually confirms whether the assault was fatal, although it is pretty strongly implied.)
Cold Turkey (1971) [Dr. Proctor]: Accidentally shot by Bob Newhart, who had mistaken the gun for a cigarette lighter. (Played for comic effect.) (Thanks to Dave)
